Metro Exodus: Sam's Story DLC details revealed, releases February 11 (update)
Updated Feb 10, 2022: The next expansion for Metro Exodus is available a day early on Xbox One.
Devleoper 4A Games announced on Twitter and on the Metro Exodus website that the adjacent Metro Exodus DLC, Metro Exodus: Sam'south Story, is going to be released on Feb 11 on the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC, and Stadia platforms. No details on price are currently known, though around $xx is a good guess given the $25 cost of the Metro Exodus Expansion Pass and the $8 price of the first expansion, Metro Exodus: The 2 Colonels.
In improver to the release date, 4A Games as well provided some details near what the expansion will be about. Every bit the title suggests, the DLC will take the actor take control of Sam, an American character from previous Metro games as well as the main story of Metro Exodus. Sam was trapped in Russian federation when the (in-universe) nuclear state of war started, and though he has stuck with his Moscow-born comrades to survive for many years, he now wants to return home to his family now that the world seems to be recovering from nuclear destruction.
According to 4A Games, the majority of the expansion volition take place in the port city of Vladivostok — strongly suggesting that Sam is going to attempt and find a naval vessel of some sort to sail his way home. Information technology's unknown how heavily this location was bombed during the nuclear war, simply since the city is the headquarters of the Russian Pacific Fleet, it'southward probable that information technology was devastated equally much as Moscow was. The folio on the Metro Exodus website describes Vladivostok's "tsunami ravaged harbours, ruined industrial buildings, and aging residential districts," and then the journeying won't be an easy one. In a printing release given past 4A Games, the expansion is also going to offer "new characters, weapons and mutant variants, in a huge, non-linear environment that offers hours of gameplay." I'm beyond stoked to see how this DLC turns out, as the first one was fantastic.
To play Metro Exodus: Sam's Story, you'll need the base re-create of Metro Exodus, which is available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC, and Stadia (y'all can notice information technology for a great toll on Amazon if you lot play on Xbox I). Then, you lot can get the Metro Exodus Expansion Laissez passer, which will give you access to both Metro Exodus: The Ii Colonels and Metro Exodus: Sam's Story.
